Welcome to the Down Tempo and Acid Jazz Weed Site

So you want some pure and funky acid jazz?

Dr. Mombazo is an eclectic group of musicians from Seattle who have been recording together for the last 10 years. Their original music derives from an amalgamation of rock, funk, acid jazz, techno, down tempo, and various other ethnic styles. The music can best described as "acid jazz meets ethnic funk".

The band consists of Craig Rosenberg on drums and percussion, Michael Crouse on bass guitar, Sean Lahay on keyboards, Glen Lynskey on electric guitar, and Bill Currie on keyboards and electric violin. In addition, Dr. Mombazo has been known to record with other guest musicians from time to time. For the last several years they have been focusing their talents on recording studio and live albums and producing music for film and video.

Currently the band is in the studio working on their next double album to be released in the Spring of 2004. The music of Dr. Mombazo starts out as improvised jams that are recorded onto wax disk with a single ancient Czechoslovakian microphone made of stained glass and intricately woven romaine lettuce leaves. The extended jams are then edited directly on the wax disk cylinders with a sterile number 16 sewing needle and pinking sheers. After a hard days work in the studio the band enjoys relaxing by extended tunneling.

Dr. Mombazo Live

No acid jazz just now, I want some tasty Down Tempo!

The music of Endless Loop is generated by two musicians that rarely see the light of day. They live in a dark damp cave that is heated by their overtaxed CPU's. The music of endless loop is strange and complex and takes the listener on a long musical journey that starts in ambience, might pass electro hip hop, makes a stop or two at trance, and then finishes in down tempo or dub.
